Saturday, August 17th, 2019Welcome to THE LAST Mega Comics Group Update!
“Lo, There Shall Be An Ending” – REDUX
We actually posted this at the end of our last blog, July 12th, 2019. We should have realized some might not see it since it was at the end of our regular weekly post. We apologize for that. So we are reposting most of those last few historic paragraphs so all will see it this time. So without further delay:
This is also possibly the last blog post for the Mega Comics Group! Sorry to shock you, but it seems there is not an easy way to break the news, and no good time to make the announcement. So rather than procrastinate any longer this seemed like as good a time as any. We have been at this for a little more than 10 years online and much longer as evidenced by our original comic book work we have produced and shared here dating back to the late 1980’s. We more than accomplished our online goal of turning all those old books into web comics, but our subsequent goal of reprinting all our Legacy Comics has fallen short, we are sorry to say.
Why stop? Well, there is a whole host of reasons depending who you might ask, but the best way to sum it all up is: we have all developed interests in new projects and maintaining the site of our past accomplishments is just too much in developing the new projects. In addition there are some conflicts of interest in what was done in the past and projects we want to pursue. There are also financial considerations as well. In short: It’s hard to move forward while dragging so much baggage, and we don’t mean to imply our past work is bad, it’s just …well… past. We have all enjoyed this site and learned a lot in the process building and maintaining it. It’s been a blast! We love it and it is with great sadness that we are ending it.
How long will the site remain online? We are not sure at this time. As you might guess a web site like this, of this age, accumulates a lot of files, takes up a lot of bandwidth on our server, so archiving it may take a while. We don’t want to delete it all, we may want to be able to access some of it in the future.
What about the printed and pdf comics at IndyPlanet and DriveThru Comics? Those will still be available for a time, possibly until the end of the year. Once the site is archived the printed books will probably follow suit soon after. BUT hopefully we’ll have something else to offer by that time…
That’s right! This is not the end! It may be the end of this web site but Mark Poe, our resident, friendly, neighborhood, publisher-in-training, has another site and comic title in the development even as we write these fateful lines. He hopes to have the new site going by the first of 2020! Freazie White, Jr. is likewise working on his own projects as is just about everyone who ever helped us on the books on this site. So fear not faithful wayfarers, ’tis not an ending we speak of. Nay! But a new beginning!
Thank You!
We would not let you go without expressing how much we appreciate your support of this site and our comics these many years! A wise man once said, “I wish there was a better way to say ‘Thank you’ but that’s all we have.” ?

“Worthy is the, Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to him who sits on
Heaven’s mercy seat
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You
Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and glory and power be
to You the only wise King
Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You…”

“Fumbling his confidence
And wondering why the world has passed him by
Hoping that he’s bent for more than arguments
And failed attempts to fly, fly
[Chorus]
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Dreaming about Providence
And whether mice or men have second tries
Maybe we’ve been livin with our eyes half open
Maybe we’re bent and broken, broken…”

Okay, now let’s take a look at some comics from the Mega Comics Group!…
Project: NewMan #3 AND the Humants #3 will both be available soon from our Comics Store and the fine folks at IndyPlanet and DriveThru Comics.
Here, from our Archives Spotlight, enjoy the first postings of Project: NewMan and Humants exactly as they were 10 years back in June 2008. Keep in mind as you read, back in the day, we were posting a page everyday rather than weekly as we do now. So any references to “tomorrow,” was then and this is now. Rather than tomorrow, our next pages from 2008 will be posted next Friday. However, if yo don’t want to to wait, just keep reading. All the pages are there. We are just spotlighting what we’ve done here.
Alternatively, for an even more awesome comics reading goodness, go to our Comics Store and purchase the PDF for a measly buck! You can read the pdf right in your browser which is not nearly as limited as reading it on the web page! In addition to that, you can download the pdf to your computer or iDevice to read it whenever and wherever you like even if you don’t have an internet connection. But for now let’s go to the Way Back Machine 10 years ago…

Project: New Man 1 Page 29
It’s not all about hyper speed action and knock down, drag out fights. Storytelling involves moments like these. Sometimes in adventure comics, now days, that is forgotten.
So ends this chapter, but wait…there’s more…in our next installment.
Mark’s Remarks: As you can see, the primary roll Max fills is that of personal councilor for Dave. His was not a role which the Project Administrators envisioned at the outset. Had they have thought of it, they would have probably brought in a highly qualified psychologist. It was at Dave’s request that Max was brought on board. In issue two, we see just how the two met and eventually became friends.
Any questions or comments? All are welcome.

I love the art on this page! Freazie did a great job and Allan was faithful with his inks. Yeah, I might be a bit bias. So sue me! ?
