CONVENTIONS & EVENTS May 8-16! PROJECT: NEW MAN 1:18! Monday’s Blog
Welcome to Monday’s Mega Comics Group Updates!
There’s a lot going on this week! We finished up one big project, which was outside of our comics related work here, and now some of our time is freed up to get back to work on all things that pertain directly to the Mega Comics Group. So in case you think we have forgotten or abandoned our other projects like the upcoming Epoch 2012 A. D. graphic novel, the second issue of Mega Tales with the conclusion of the 2 part Tess, the Living Tesseract introductory story or the Mega Spectacular Public Domain heroes projects, fear not, faithful reader! We’ll be giving you new updates of all very soon. In the meantime, let’s check some current goings on the comics industry.

Reminder: On Saturday, May 8 at 10:00AM, the League of FANATICON Volunteers is meeting outside the Museum (2 South Pack Square) to hit the streets and put up posters and pass out postcards. This event is open to EVERYONE! No special invitation needed. So, if you have an hour or two to spare and you’d like to help, we’d love to have you! Then, after we’ve painted the town FANATICON, we’ll meet up at Asheville Brewing Company for pizza! Yay!

Archives Spotlight

We continue our look back at our previously posted web comics. We’ll be looking at all that’s come before with this feature and adding new comments as well. This month we are reviewing Project: New Man! Stay tuned to this section Monday, Wednesday and Fridays for more news on our archived titles.
Project: New Man #1 -- Page 18 - Checkmate! It’s a distraction tactic and the killer falls for it and lowers his gun to shoot New Man forgetting that bullets won’t penetrate his Unified Field. It’s a narrow opening but the only one the hero has. He uses the Unified Field to propel his baton like a missile!
Mark’s Remarks: Scripter, Editor and all around nice guy, Freazie White, Jr. did not think this page or the next one needed much text at all, I tend to agree. Sometimes as the old saying goes “a picture is worth a thousand words.” What do you think?
One of the limitations of presenting comic book pages every day, as we did the first time this story came to the web, or every few days, in this case, is the break in the reading. To get the full impact of this story and the drama we spent several pages building up to, it’s best to read every page of the story in one sitting as readers were able to do with the original printing of this book back in 1991. This can still be done on this web site now, since this is the Archives Spotlight on this story. All the pages for issue one are already loaded and ready for you to view. So feel free to keep reading on to the next page if you like or you can wait until Wednesday to get it in our next Archives Spotlight installment along with our sparkling commentary.
