Well, another Holiday season has come to an end. Except for 3 more Bowls the College football season is almost over.

Well, Alabama fans were disappointed in the outcome of the Sugar Bowl. Utah rolled all over the Tide. Alabama’s reshuffled Offensive Line having suffered a key suspension and loses to injuries just could not get in sync to stop the blitzing speed of the Utah Rushing Defense. But take heart, Crimson Tide fans, the program is still in the second year of rebuilding under Coach Nick Saban, finishing 12-2 is way ahead of what anyone expected this year. Most did not think the team could win more than 9 games for the whole season.

And how about those Utes? Utah finishes a perfect 13-0 and should be in contention for a National Championship. But without a playoff system for College Football like every other sports series in the land has, the only thing they can hope for is the AP would vote them into the number one spot in their poll, giving us co-champions this year.

Now for the NFL report. WOW! We would never have imagined the Dolphins would get stomped this year by the Ravens and that the Chargers would win in overtime over the Colts. We had the Vikings picked too over the Eagles so what do we know! And what about those Cardinals edging out the Falcons! Whew!

Now we have the Divisional Playoffs set for this weekend. It’s the Ravens at the Titans, the Chargers taking on the Steelers, the Eagles and the Giants and the Cardinals rolling in against the Panthers! Let the picks begin!

Okay, chins up now! Let’s enjoy some comics!

Humants # 5:

Chaosta has come out of the daze and notice her costume has mended as has her mind and body apparently. She realizes these Humants are not Renegades but the very ones she was searching for when she got into a free for all with the Herald. Cleary, Sojourner is relieved although I suspect Man Ark is disappointed the fight ended so soon.

Now at last we have our team, as it stands now, all together. What will they do now? Ah, we’ll find out soon but first we’ll do a scene switch tomorrow to find out just where those Renegade Humants got off to. See you then!

Friday after New Years Day! Wow! What a great day we had! We did some work but it’s was all comics or comics web site related! We got some done on the NEW Project: New Man art but we aren’t going to show you anything just yet. We’re working on our store merchandise, networking and promoting this and our new sites so we can be accessible to even more web wayfarers! We’ll clue you in more about it in due time!

As we were working we had the College Football games on. SEC fans were disappointed with South Carolina’s poor showing in the Outback Bowl early on. It should have been the Turnover Bowl because all Iowa’s points came off of interceptions or fumbles by the Gamecocks. It’s hard to believe this is a team coached by Steve Spurrier. A little later Georgia took care of business  with Michigan State and Nebraska got their first Bowl win in 9 years against a much improved Clemson! We were pulling for Penn State but USC had their way as the victor in the Rose Bowl. We didn’t stay up to see the conclusion but in the third quarter Virgina Tech had a 3 point lead on Cincinnati.

Today’s Football! First off we get to see the Cotton Bowl with Ole Miss taking on Texas Tech. Then East Carolina and Kentucky match up in the Liberty Bowl. Alabama takes on undefeated Utah in the Sugar Bowl tonight!

Only one bowl Saturday with Connecticut and Buffalo because the NFL Playoffs begin Saturday!

It’s Wildcard Weekend! Saturday we have the Colts taking on the Chargers and the Falcons verses the Cardinals! Then Sunday it’s the Ravens against the Dolphins and the Eagles in a fight with the Vikings! WOW!

Plenty to do this weekend! Have a good one and by the way…ROLL TIDE!

Humants # 5:

Whatever Man Ark’s intentions, he probably has gotten more than he bargained for.

Chaosta has as much fire about her as the Herald does but with a difference. Her’s is almost psychotic in nature, wild and untamed, while his is like the carrying out of a focused, relentless sentence of justice.

However, the ferocity of the two are almost identical. They simply do not back down and such passion always catches those who do not have it, nor understand it, off guard and they are often without remedy in dealing with it. They find themselves in shock, back on their heals and not able to recover to win and later just thankful if they can survive such an onslaught.

Such ferocity often enables the wielder not only to win but beat all odds and take out an opponent much bigger and stronger than themselves. Clearly we have an example here of that very principal as Chaosta beats back the much bigger and stronger Man Ark.

New Years Day! WOW! 2008 is over! Geeze! It seems like it was only 6 months ago we started publishing web comics and… eh? Oh, yeah! It was only 6 month ago. But seriously, this year has seemingly gone by fast! As we did at Thanksgiving and Christmas we take our hats off to you, dear reader! Thanks for making our venture back into publishing comics such fun and successful! We know it will only get better from here!

Okay now, you know it’s the Football Bowl Season, and the NFL Playoff’s are about to begin which will end in the 2009 Super Bowl in February. But did you know that there is a Robotic Football Super Bowl? Hah!  Check this out from YouTube. This sure as heck ain’t those old Electric Football sets we played with as kids!

Humants # 5:

Chaosta is up! And yes she is dazed. She instinctively attacks Man Ark and Sojourner thinking they are part of the Humant Renegades she last fought before the explosion.

So how do they react? Do they back off? Well, Sojourner is in favor of that but Man Ark has other plans. Maybe he figures they might as well make this a training exercise or maybe he just likes to fight. Maybe he thinks the best way to snap Chaosta out of this daze is to let her blow off some steam. Maybe it’s all of the above!

Man Ark isn’t your run of the mill super-team strong guy. He’s not just brawny he has some brains as well. He likes to use a little psychology as he moves in on his opponent. Like most athletes know, a little trash talk can help gain an advantage over the competition. But will it work on someone like Chaosta? Seems to be, so far!

New Year’s Eve! We all celebrate the birth of the New Year and at the same time on New Year’s Eve there is a sense of what was good or might have been different in times long past or Auld Lang Syne. The phrase was popularized as the title and refrain of a song by Robert Burns from way back in 1788. It has become synonymous with New Year’s Eve.

It may have been sometime in the mid eighties, or maybe earlier, another song was released, Same Old Lang Syne, which touched a lot of hearts. It was based on a real life experience of the music artist, Dan Fogelberg, and his chance meeting with his former girlfriend several years after they had gone their separate ways which he describes in the song. Lot’s of folks could relate to it either with similar experiences or just an old memory of something that might have been. The song was a hit single and has become a tradition at this time of year. While looking for what to put in our New Year’s Eve post that song was one of the first things suggested as part of the holiday landscape. It’s a little sad but in a good way.

Sadder still is the fact that a little over a year ago on December 16, 2007 Dan Fogelberg lost his second and last battle with Prostrate Cancer at the young age of 54. You can find out more about Dan Fogelberg and the tribute album released by his wife earlier this year with proceeds going to Prostrate Cancer Research at the official web site www.danfogelberg.com .

Humants # 5:

Chaosta is really hurt! Rather than take her to a hospital Magistar opted to bring her to their headquarters in the old renovated warehouse. That might not seem like a great idea at the onset but as we listen to Sojourner explain to the Herald and Man Ark the power of Khosmenrgy which has evolved them into the Humants they are also provides them with a healing factor. It even repairs their clothing! Hmmm… it could be the costumes are actually made of Khosmenergy since they received them at the moment of their transformation. Maybe Freazie will enlighten us more on that later.

Oops! Looks like Chaosta is waking up. Looks like the action is about to get underway…tomorrow!

New Year’s Week & Kwanzaa continues! Hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays! Celebrate them while you can!

We’ve been enjoying the College Football Bowls this year and really looking forward to the big ones starting New Year’s Day. The Alabama Crimson Tide takes on the Undefeated Utah Utes on Jan 2nd just to mention one! Of course the big one is January 8th when the Oklahoma Sooners takes on the Florida Gators! Could the Sooners be in for a surprise?

In Addition the NFL Playoffs are set and will be underway this weekend with the 4 Wildcard Games! Saturday we have the Colts taking on the Chargers and the Falcons verses the Cardinals! Then Sunday it’s the Ravens against the Dolphins and the Eagles in a fight with the Vikings! Have you made your picks yet? HAH! We can hardly wait!

And now… today’s comics!

Humants # 5:

Man Ark carries the limp form of his sister Humant, Chaosta, to the makeshift cot they have adapted for her use in recovering from the battle. The Herald looks on in what might actually be taken as concern, though with the grim Humant Adjudicator it is hard to discern on his features. Sojourner grimaces at the thoughts of having to administer first aid to a fallen comrade in arms under such conditions as they must endure with their modest means in this old converted warehouse. This is the first time they have had to deal with such hardship in the early stages of what can be nothing less than a war, possibly a long, difficult war. The thought that their youngest and newest ally would be struck down first is disheartening. Each hopes that maybe Omnispawn will see fit to appear and perhaps do something to expedite Chaosta’s healing process.

Such won’t be the case and won’t even be needed as we will see in just a few minutes. Hang loose! The action is not far away!

It’s New Years week as Kwanza Continues! Here’s an appropriate clip for New Year’s week from YouTube. One of our favorite bands, U2 with one of their best tunes: New Year’s Day.

We are working this week but also kicking back just a bit since the Holiday’s roll on for a few more days. We will have Humants #5 postings all week as usual. Project: New Man finished last week and for now is on hiatus until we start the all-new adventures. Mega Tales is just around the corner and will be our showcase book featuring titles from previous work as well as new proposed titles. Epoch 2012 A.D. will be coming soon after Mega Tales. More on all this later…

To paraphrase a well know walking pile of orange bricks, “It’s Comics Times!”

Humants # 5:

“I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” Naw, he didn’t say that but he might as well have. As if things were not confusing enough now the Feds are entering the picture!

Look at Magistar. Even though he’s a straight laced ex-cop he knows trouble when he see’s it even if it does sport a badge. And of course they claim responsibility and jurisdiction over everything even to the point they want to take credit for creating the Humants. Hmmm… We’ve already seen hints that E.D.G.E. is claiming to be the originators of the Humants as they thought with Project: New Man. We saw how that turned out. So rest assured a fellow by the name of Omnispawn will no doubt have something to say about that. Hmmph!

The real questions here are: Just how far the corruption goes in these agencies? Who can we really trust? And how will all of it be sorted out? It should be an interesting journey. Stay tuned.

The Day After Christmas! Boxing Day! Kwanzaa Begins! Here’s what we planned for yesterday from  You Tube but it was a bit longer getting done than we expected. This is one of our favorite holiday classics and we thought in view of recent elections it had some special significance also. We added a few new images of a more timely nature and wonder just what Mister Cole would think of our recent election. Betcha he is smiling somewhere! So anyway, hope you enjoy this little clip:

Humants # 5:

He survived! Perimeter: Master of Munitions survived a fall several stories after being blasted by Chaosta. That Humant Transformation, even at the hands of Mageddon must add a bit of invulnerability.

To recap: Mageddon empowered his own group to match Omnispawn’s team. They are: The Tower, the aforementioned Perimeter: Master of Munitions, Smasher Quinn, & Shyster: Manipulator of Minds. Mageddon has empowered them to aid him in his war on humanity and there chief job description is to oppose Omnispawn’s group of Humants so he can go about dissecting our world little by little and unhindered. He also draws sustenance from the Renegade Humants very existence, like some kind of energy vampire.

So what do you think of our newest inker inker Anthony Gray? He’s pretty faithful to Freazie’s pencils and those tones he adds to the art are really a nice touch.

SPECIAL NOTE: Pages 2 and 3 we’re meant to be double page spreads, but with WordPress/ComicPress that’s difficult to do. I’ve posted page 2 here as normal but also supplied this link to pages 2 & 3 joined together as they are meant to be. I’ll post page 3 Saturday with this same text. Wednesday’s Final Page!

Today is a little bit of a sad day, even though it is Christmas Eve! Today is the day we post the back cover for Project: New Man #4 and as we wrote yesterday this will be the last page of PNM for a while. We’re taking a hiatus from the series to regroup our efforts more in line with today’s web market and technology. So don’t fret, we’ve not seen the last of Dave, Fawn, Nick, Chief Thunder, Kamikaze, Bearcat and the rest.

We’d like to take this space to thank all of you who have read these posts and comics pages and those who read the first offerings of Legacy Comics when we first got started back in 1990. We have been deeply touched by the encouragement we have received over the years from our readers and fans. We couldn’t do it without you and we wouldn’t want to!

Also a big “THANKS!” to the whole blame Legacy Comics Crew! From Freazie and Mark to Billy Leavell, Harry Miller, Christopher Torres, Ralph Ellis Miley, Allen Lewis, Alan Baker, Nathan Massengill, Thomas O’Conner, John Larter, Mark Alan Lester, Hobert Lyons, Paul Schulze and Anthony Gray!
