    MCG Recommends: Cy-Boar

A wild boar is hunted and forced unto a secret government project secretly located in a remote rural area of the nation. Discovered and rescued by employees of the project, he becomes a test subject. He is mutated into a more humanoid form and his damaged limbs replaced with cybernetic parts. He becomes powerful, and intelligent. He is thankful to his benefactors until he discovers the terrible secret of the project! This series by Lou Graziani evolves from a rough, but solid, early effort into a much more polished series.WARNING: Cy-boar contains some graphic violence which might be unsuitable for children or others sensitive to the sight of blood.

Legacy Comics Friday October 3rd Updates. No Weekend Updates.

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Howdy, par’ners! Ready for Friday’s Daily Mega Comics Group Updates? Great! Let’s head ‘em up and move ‘em out!

We’ll not be updating the blogs this weekend again. Instead we’ll be working on the background operations of running 3 comics web sites. We’re still building and as you might have noticed we’ve made a lot of changes in just the past few days. For those who are curious about it here’s a little rundown of what goes on behind the scenes. It takes a 1 -2 hours each day just to get the updates done. That’s just the web production part of it. We also have art, layout, design and editing to do as well. That can take many hours. As we draw to a close on our old Legacy Comics Material we are stepping up new material production. So it’s getting to the point the weekends off from posting are needed more than ever. Even though we are not posting on the weekends the work is still going on. Then there is advertising and promotion and getting set up for new areas such as the printed books we’re about to undertake. We’ve also got some other products we’ll be adding to our store. Oh yeah, and we have to finish the online store set up too! So as I eluded to last week, we’ll probably keep the 5 week daily postings instead of the 7 day week for the time being, maybe through the remaining 3 months of this year. We hope to have all the major construction of our sites done by then as well as a lot of new story and art as well.

New Man 4 Page 3 Panel 2

Of course as I wrote yesterday it’s not just this site, we’re working on more visibility on the web with OnlineComics.net, ComicSpace.com, DrunkDuck.com and Salty ‘Ham Cartooneestas just to mention a few. These are not all either, so keep watching this space for more news on what we are doing in the ways of promotion. Our web stats have shown increases every month and we expect that will continue especially with these new promotion areas.

Again 2009 could be a very special year for the Mega Comics Group thanks to you! We couldn’t do it without ya!

Project New Man # 4:

So who is Ebeneezer Baal? Figured it out yet? There are some clues on this very page just as we’ve dropped here and there throughout The Haunted Man storyline. He is a character which has appeared before in our continuity. I’m sure you have figured it out but for those who may still be piecing it together we’ll wait until page 19 to reveal his name to the world at large.

Now here’s another interesting little continuity tidbit: Baal mentions E.D.G.E. If you have read today’s Humants update already you heard my spiel about how that group plays a major role in the Legacy Universe. Now we find out Baal is tied into to them as well! You may recall E.D.G.E. from New man’s origin in PNM #2. Hah! Now, there’s a major clue for you! :-)

Humants 3 Page 13 Panel 1

Humants #3:

We meet some new characters today. Actually we saw them in the closing panels of yesterday’s page we just did not know their names. Meet Vic Torrent, Moniel Khonte and Professor Jacob Sanders. We start to learn a little more about a couple of government groups with the titles A.R.A.D and E.D.G.E. The two groups are tied into the background of the whole series and the Legacy Universe figuring into the Project: New Man storyline as well. “How?” you ask. The heck if I know! Freazie wrote this stuff! ;-) But I’m sure he’ll enlighten us on that as we go. We’re only in issue 3, there are 3 more issues of Humants to go! So don’t go away, keep checking back everyday so we can see how his thing turns out! I’m as eager to find out as you are, and I’m the Publisher! Which, as I’ve come to find out, means I’m the head Gopher! ;-)

Legacy Comics Monday October 6th Updates

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Hi! Glad you could make it! Ready or not here’s Monday’s Daily Mega Comics Group Updates!

I hope you had nice weekend. Ours was busy but productive. I’ll fill you in later about that, right now let’s find out what’s happening in our daily comics!

New Man 4 Page 4 Panel 2

Project New Man # 4:

Chapter 9 begins today in The Haunted Man saga. Nick and Fawn are in route to her home to see some new scientific gizmo she has acquired.

Nick’s relationship to Fawn is that of a mentor and student or probably more accurately, father and daughter. We never got the chance to delve into the characters past very far so we don’t know Fawn’s real father or perhaps absence thereof as is the case in a lot of kid’s upbringing theses days. It should also be noted, Nick is a father figure to more than just Fawn. His nickname, Saint Nick, is for more than just his appearance. He is a very kindly old gentleman. Perhaps one day we’ll delve into these character’s family background. It’s always interesting to know what shaped the character of the story’s cast.

As for now, the quite drive and joyful camaraderie of two good friends is about to end. Their characters are about to be tested as never before! Stay tuned this week to see what happens!

Humants 3 Page 14 Close-up

Humants #3:

In case you were wondering about the whereabouts of our resident villain, we found him. Not that we really wanted to, mind you! Still it’s good to know just where and what your enemies are up to, is it not? As to where and what, we find him back at Devlin Robotics practicing his favorite pastime, bullying someone less powerful than himself, in this case one Gregory Lawthers, assistant to the missing Devlin Delano. You may recall them from issue # 1. Devlin dissappeared as Mageddon came into our dimension. Now, whether Devlin is really Mageddon transformed into the horrid Dark Lord of the Hecati or actually just switched places with him and is even now imprisoned in some hellish dimension we cannot be sure. I’m sure all that will come to light before this is all said and done.

SUPER BOWL 43 SET! MLK DAY! INAUGURATION FESTIVITIES! EPOCH 2012 A.D. ART! HUMANTS 5:19 Monday’s Comics

Monday, January 19th, 2009

Welcome to Monday’s mishmash of mania and musings which make up the Daily Mega Comics Group Updates!

Epoch Art Preview

Lest we forget! Here’s the promised preview of the awesome art of Shawn Decker for Epoch 2012 A.D. #1. Click the image for a larger view. It’s not colored yet but just imagine, if it looks this good in black and white…WHEW! We picked 3 of the best of the 15 pages Shawn has turned in to tease you a little. Actually picking 3 was tough! We wanted to show you all of them! But Writer/Editor Freazie White, Jr. would not have it! He doesn’t want to show too much before the series premieres.

Epoch 2012 Logo

Speaking of Mr. White: Freazie is still hard at work on the script and we’re doing our best to nag him into letting us share some of that. He promises it’s full of super natural mystery and political intrigue and how that all ties into the cosmic event of The Precession of the Equinoxes which will occur in or around the year 2012. So far he’s keeping to himself on this one and won’t even let his ol’ buddy and publisher Mark Poe in on the deal! Hmmph! You’d think he worked for the Secret Service or something! Hmmmm…. Nah… couldn’t be. ;-)

Well, another NFL Football season is almost at an end. :-( The Super Bowl and Pro Bowl is all that remains of the 2008 season. We’re set with the Pittsburg Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals for Super Bowl 43! What a wild ride it’s been getting there!

Eagles vs Cardinals Box Score

The Cardinals looked like they would run away with another one in the first half which ended 24-6, but then the Eagles came storming back to take the lead by 1 point in the second half! But the Cardinals were not done and in spite of being held scoreless in the third quarter rallied to go ahead by a touchdown and a 2 point conversion! The Cardinals defense held the Eagles to a 4 and out with just under 3 minutes to play then it was just a matter of the Cardinals offense running down the clock. This one was a barn burner and kept us on the edge of our seats!

Steelers vs. Ravens Box Score

The Steelers and the Ravens was mostly defense as most had predicted. Most of us here were pulling for the Steelers but had thought the Ravens, as they had done in their other playoff games, would just be on fire! But it seems the Steeler defense, which most agree is better than it was in 2005 when they won the Super Bowl, had a little to say about. It was close throughout the game. One co-worker said he sure hoped the Super Bowl was more interesting than the AFC Championship Game. Mark said he actually went to eat 2 minutes before halftime and came back midway through the 3rd quarter and the score had not changed!

Martin Luther King Jr.It’s Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday and the irony of it preceding the first African American President’s Inauguration is not lost!  MLK was the trailblazer, the pioneer and ultimately the martyr who prepared the way for the election of Senator Barack Obama to be the 44th President of the United States of America. It is with great awe, admiration and deep respect that we here at MCG remember his birthday and celebrate his legacy!

The ObamasInauguration Festivities are underway! As alluded to above, back during the election regardless of which side you were on, there was a sense that this election was one of destiny. There is an excitement in the air for this Presidential Inauguration which we have not seen in many years! And it seems that the expectations for this President are off the scale! It’s not just Democrats either, it’s Republicans and Independents as well! More tomorrow!

Sorry we are a bit late this morning. We just had a lot to comment on. :-)

Okay, we are not done yet! Let’s enjoy some comics!

Humants # 5:

Humants 5 Page 19 Panel 3

Special Agents Vic Torrent and Moniel Khonte are in a firefight for their lives as they try to protect the geekish Professor Jacob Sanders from another group of special agents from a rival agency. Professor Sanders is a key to understanding the evolution of humans into Humants, or so it is thought. Thus we have a gang war between 2 corrupt government agencies erupt into a fevered fenzy in a downtown hotel. You can bet this won’t go unnoticed and that before the end of the day more agencies will be involved in this affair.

Sorting it all out and who is actually the good guys in all this is the problem. It may be that agents Torrent and Khonte find that government protection is an allusive illusion at best, when corruption is exposed and it more or less becomes “every man for himself!”

But there is one more wrench to monkey up the works as the silhouette in the doorway they seek to escape through forebodes more danger to come or something else! But the revealing of who that involves must wait until… tomorrow!

Any questions or comments? All are welcome.
