Project: New Man 1 Page 19
The art says it all on this one, folks.
Mark’s Remarks: What my pal Freazie White, Jr. and myself wanted to present in this story was a powerful super hero faced with a situation in which all his power and training were rendered ineffective by an ordinary person. “Ordinary” in the sense of not having any super powers that is. Also we wanted to put this character, which has gone from a life not much different than his adversary, to a life of moral character and how he would deal with a situation where he had no choice but to take a life. Would you ever see this in a Superman or Spider-man comic? Probably not. In spite of our own inexperience in doing comics back in the early ’90′s we felt like we accomplished our goal in this issue. Those we spoke to on the convention tour the next summer seemed to think so too. I can’t remember any negative feedback whatsoever on the book.
That’s not the end of the story… just the end of the chapter. Now, we have to deal with the aftermath of The Mall Massacre! Stay tuned, partners!
