Project: New Man 2 Cover
We have concluded the first Project: New Man story which was originally published in 1991 as a one shot independent black & white comic book. Instead of a second published issue we made the second PNM story a back up in Humants #1, which by the way, is live on the web right now. The cover was done for PNM #2 but only saw publication on the back cover of Humants #1 and only in black & white. Why it was only in black & white when the front cover was full color is beyond our memory! But for this web debut we got the old b&w cover out and digitally colored it up just for you! We added a little more modern version of the masthead as well but this is how it could have looked had we printed issue # 2. The painting may not be as good as Nathan Massengill did on #1 but maybe it will do. You tell us.
Mark’s Remarks: What a thrill it was to finally share these comics the way we always wanted to. Not so much on the web, because at the time we didn’t even have a clue about that, but in the individual packages they were originally intended to occupy. We look forward to presenting the new material we’ll have for you in the coming months and years. Hang around! It will be fun!

[...] Humants #1 – Cover – At last! We’ve been looking forward to this day! The Web Comic debut of Legacy Comics’ Humants title originally published back in 1991. Freazie wrote and drew this title. This was his baby! For the cover: Freazie drew it up, Mark Poe inked it, and Nathan Massengill did his blazing color treatment! WOW! And so it begins… Mark’s Remarks: Here I am just after midnight. My family long since retired to bed for the evening and even though I’m tired too, I’m also jazzed with seeing this cover again. Sure we had done some comics before this but these were different. Legacy Comics were well received by everyone we met and gave or sold an issue too. We got fan mail with almost no negative feedback at all. People who stopped by our booths at comic cons were thrilled and hopeful. People were wanting something new and different from what the big two had to offer and yet something familiar to them, something like what they grew up with. We were doing our best to give them just that. Sure we had our shortcomings, but somehow that seemed to endear us to everyone all the more. If we had only had a way to spread the word more… something which everyone had access to… something like… the internet! Hmmmm… maybe we were just ahead of our time, eh? [...]
