Humants 5 Back Cover

Well, folks, with this back cover, that’s a wrap for issue #5 of the Humants. This art was some more new art by Mark Poe which was done to finish up the Bearcat back up we just read to fill out 32 pages worth of material for Humants # 5. Mark tried to keep his art a little looser to somewhat match what Mark Alan Lester did the 1st 8 pages. However, this was far more than a filler story, as it introduced a character, Brim the Troll, which will become an important character in the new series both in Humants and Project: New Man.

That also wraps up all the published and unpublished comics we have for Legacy Comics except for a few odds and ends, a short lived Humants comic strip that ran in 5-6 issues of the Comics Buyers Guide and some random images, which we’ll get around too eventually when we find the appropriate spot for them.

It’s been fun re-reading and re-packaging these for a webcomics audience. To us, getting these comics  back in circulation is a major milestone after being out of the field for 16 years but it’s minor compared to what’s ahead! There is a few corrections here and there we will do before we get these ready to publish as Trade Paperbacks. We’ll alert you to the changes in the archives as we get to them as well as when the TPB’s go on sale.

We hope you have enjoyed our little trip down memory lane in re-presenting this work which was done in the early 1990′s. We also hope you will stick around for the re-launch of the series in a few months, and in the meantime starting in March be here for the premier of Mega Tales #1 which starting off will feature some of our re-packaged Dimension Graphics comics from the late ’80′s. Then soon after for the debut of the ALL-NEW Epoch 2012 A.D., The Precession of the Equinoxes. We’ll be waiting for you! :-)

Project: New Man

• Updates Online DAILY – Project: New Man #4 – The Full Length story from Legacy Comics 1991-1992 Black and White independent Comic Publishing venture. Featuring never before published material!

This features not only some more never before published art from Christopher Torres, circa 1992, but also some brand new 2008 art from yours truly! Freazie gets to finish the script and we tie up a lot of loose ends in this issue as The Haunted Man concludes. We find out the true identity of Ebeneezer Baal! Have you guessed who he is yet. He is someone who has been in the New Man story line and we have dropped clues here and there. This issue also has more of  Bearcat in action again, we see the abduction of Fawn and Nick, Cyber-Tech escapes and there is a special secret surprise guest-star! HAH! Yeah, this one has it all! :-D

Written by Freazie White, Jr. with art by Christopher Torres & Mark Poe. Expert lettering by Billy Leavell & Mark’s iMac G5.

• Project: New Man #3 – The Full Length story from Legacy Comics 1991-1992 Black and White independent Comic Publishing venture. Featuring never before published material!

The tale we call The Haunted Man began late one night in Project: New Man #1. While on patrol in the city of New Harbour, New Man overheard the aimless braggadocio conversation of congregated street hoods. The name Ebenezer Baal had been at the center of the conversation. It was an alias of one incredibly elusive crime lord, whose true identity remained a mystery.

New Man made his way to the warehouse and was met by an ambush. Better than a dozen heavily armed men had found New Man’s Unified Field to be more than a match for their armament, alas, Baal himself had managed to escape.

A young costumed adventurer called Bearcat arriving on the scene, spots Baal’s timely exit and follows Baal to his hideout. Being somewhat new to the heroing business, the ofttimes presumptuous Bearcat soon finds himself face to face with Cyber-Tech, a cybernetic lackey of Baal’s.  Cyber-Tech holds a grudge against the Thunderhawks (New Man’s trainers) and is intent on their destruction. No one, not even Bearcat or New Man, will stand in the way of the cyborg’s goals!

Written by Freazie White, Jr. with art by Nathan Massengill, Mark Poe & Christopher Torres. Expert lettering by Billy Leavell.

• Project: New Man #2 – The Full Length back-up feature from Legacy Comics 1991 Black and White 64 page Independent Comic Humants #1!

His actual identity is as much a mystery as what drives him. He calls himself Ebenezer Baal, and he is The Haunted Man but he intends for misery to have company as he in turn haunts Dave Davison a.k.a New Man. We find out in this origin tale Dave was not always a hero, and it seems his past is easily as shady as the criminals he now pursues! Co-Starring The Thunder Hawks!

Written by Freazie White, Jr. with art by Mark Poe, Allan Lewis, and Alan Baker. Lettering by Billy Leavell.

• Project: New Man #1 – Legacy Comics 1991 Black and White 32 page Independent Comic! Dave Davison is the subject of Project: New Man, a partly secret joint venture of the U.S. Government and the Fortress Foundation, a private sector non-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to public defense and scientific research. Dave has the dual role of being part of the research project and at the same time being groomed by the Government as a public protector in the Five Lakes Megalopolis area. Dave has a dark past which he hoped was dead and buried but in his first public adventure he confronts his past and an old partner head on in “The Mall Massacres”.

Written by Freazie White, Jr. with art  by Mark Poe, Thomas O’Conner, Nathan Massengill, and Alan Baker also lettering by Billy Leavell.

The Time Is At Hand!

June 30th, 2008

Comic Books were introduced to the American public in the early 20th century. Since then they have been reinvented countless times. Now they have evolved once more, but this instance, it’s a quantum leap! We have arrived on new shores, the new world of the Information Age has just gotten underway. The Industrial Age is over. Comic books, magazines, and news papers are being replaced by web sites at an astonishing rate as we enter into the 21st century. Manual distribution and limited supply are no longer an issue, digital content is available to anyone with a computer and a connection to the World Wide Web. No need to worry about missing an issue of your favorite comic book anymore. No chance of being turned down by the manager of the local comic shop who won’t order that obscure title you been anxious to snag onto. Now you can get it online right on your personal computer.

Many comics can not only be browsed with your favorite web browser, many are available to be downloaded in pdf files to be opened with a pdf reader program such as Adobe Acrobat Reader and even printed in full color on your very own Ink Jet printer. Other online comics have limited run old style printed companion issues or collected Trade Paperback volumes for sale OR print on demand digital printed copies available for ordering. T-shirts, mouse pads, calendars and all manner of merchandise are often also available directly from the comic creators.

Now comes Mega Comics Group! In the next 30 days we will build this site. First with comics from our past publishing venture: Legacy Comics, and even some earlier stuff. Then we’ll launch our new comics designed specifically for this new era!

Yes, the time is here and we have arrived! What’s not to love about this age we live in! Enjoy!
