Here we go! Page 1 of the very first story of Tess and The Lost Legacy Of Ursa Major. As we wrote before this was originally done back in 1987 but never published anywhere until now in 2009 22 years later. The art has been archived in Mark’s closet all this time! It has changed very little from the original. We scanned it all in cleaned it up and digitallly re-lettered it, added some digital color and voilà: new web comics of Tess for 2009.

This story was originally plotted by Greg Legat and Mark Poe sitting around the kitchen table at Greg’s parent’s house on a few Saturday afternoons. Once we had it all written down, Mark headed back to his small studio office in his house and from his drawing board whipped out 32 pages of pencils for the first installment. We then sent it off to J. Adam Walters for inking. Somewhere along the line we decided to make it a 2 part story. So what we are beginning today is part one which will conclude Mega Tales #1.

Mega Tales #2 will feature the conclusion of this story which, to our knowledge and ironclad memories, was never plotted before. I’m sure we had an idea of where we were going as we finished up #1, but when funding to publish the first story fell off, we shelved everything.

Unfortunately, even though the art was kept up with, some of the other materials, like the original script, plot synopsis and character notes have been…well…misplaced. We are diligently searching for those so we can tell you all about our cast. Worse case scenerio: we’ll redo the cast list from memory, which might be an adventure in and of itself after 22 years! gulp! Stay tuned!
